Annual General Meeting

Wednesday 3 December

It’s our Annual General Meeting on 3 December β€” but don’t let the words β€œAnnual General Meeting” put you off!

Yes, there is some important Association business to get through, but once the necessary formalities are out of the way, we’ll be getting into the more enjoyable part of the evening.

What’s happening?

As well as the AGM itself, there’ll be plenty going on:

  • Membership renewal β€” get yourself signed up for another year of beekeeping, learning and socialising with the Association.

  • Our charitable auction β€” bring along something to donate, have some fun bidding, and help us raise money for a good cause.

  • A raffle β€” because who doesn’t enjoy the possibility of going home with a prize?

  • Honey tasting β€” members are invited to bring along a jar of their own honey for everyone to sample. It’s a great opportunity to taste the variety of honeys produced by our members and discover just how different they can be.

  • Festive refreshments β€” we’ll finish the evening with some festive nibbles and hot drinks.

Bring along your honey!

If you’ve got some of your own honey to share, bring a jar along to the AGM for our honey tasting.

Whether it’s from your first ever harvest or you’re a seasoned honey producer, we’d love to give everyone the opportunity to taste it. Different bees, different apiaries, different seasons and different flowers can all produce wonderfully different flavours β€” so it’s always interesting to see what our members have been producing.

And, of course, it’s another excellent excuse to eat honey!

What could I donate for the auction?

The charitable auction is always a great opportunity to have a bit of fun while raising money for our chosen charitable cause β€” and your donation doesn’t need to be anything special or even beekeeping-related.

Perhaps you have:

  • A jar (or several!) of your finest honey

  • Beekeeping equipment or books that are gathering dust

  • Homemade preserves, cakes or other goodies

  • Plants, garden items or craftwork

  • A bottle, hamper or voucher

  • Something you’ve made, grown or baked

  • Or simply something lovely that you think another member might enjoy

If it’s in good condition and you think someone might bid for it, bring it along!

One beekeeper’s unwanted treasure could be another beekeeper’s absolute delight.

All donations, whether large or small, will be very gratefully received and will help us raise funds for our chosen charitable cause.

Come along and join us

We’re looking forward to a relaxed and enjoyable evening with members, a little bit of Association business, some friendly competition, plenty of honey and a festive end to the year.

We hope to see you there!
