Queen Rearing

  • Catisfield Memorial Hall 22 Catisfield Lane Fareham, England, PO15 5NN United Kingdom (map)

In this talk, Philip Latham will take us through queen rearing and how we can work with the natural biology of the honey bee to raise our own queens.

A good queen is central to a strong and healthy colony. Rearing our own queens allows us to select for qualities such as good temperament, productivity, health and resilience.

We’ll cover the basic principles, look at some practical methods, and hopefully give you the confidence to have a go yourselves.
